Why our trade affiliates, bank affiliates, referral partners and sales agents are treated better with BNG Holdings than any of our competitors
BNG Holdings Inc. was “officially” formed on January 1, 2007 in an effort to create a company built on strong ethics and long-lasting partnerships.
But the story of BNG Holdings Inc. really starts even earlier.
CEO Brady Nash, President Ryan Goodman, and Vice President Tyler Buechler, all dropped out of North Dakota State University in 2005 in order to pursue an education in entrepreneurship through network marketing – originally selling new phone technologies.
While those efforts later shifted to credit card processing, they often found themselves having to sell products for companies that didn’t have their customers best interest at heart.
“As sales people, we had little control over a company’s dishonesty, other than to quit and build a new model that placed people and relationships at the center,” Goodman said.
They considered it unfair that businesses in small towns like Lidgerwood North Dakota – Nash’s home town – had to pay triple the amount in fees to provide credit card processing compared with Fargo stores, despite no additional cost to the credit card companies.
Even when the fees were not too burdensome, getting one company to advise on, provide and support all the point-of-sale products and services, was also a struggle, the team noticed.
“We could see restaurants and retail shops of all stripes throughout the Dakotas who were craving a company to come in and handle the continuum of point of sale systems,” Nash said. “So that’s what we focused on becoming.”
So with a portfolio of bad experiences but years of knowledge gained through old-fashioned, shoe-leather selling, this contingent of best friends charted a course to not only make sure those who sold and partnered with the company could feel good about its ethics, but that its partners could count on them remaining cutting edge. The company is run by five guys — Ryan Theis, Director of Business Development and Robert Olson, Vice President of Sales both joined the team in 2007 – all grew up in the Internet age. They spend considerable time researching industry trends and using new technologies in order to provide the latest in point of sale equipment and servicing, from helping businesses that sell online and offline to integrate sales data, to mobile credit card processing options on products like the iPad.
That Model Has Paid Off – Big
Already one of the fastest growing merchant services companies in the Upper Midwest, BNG Holdings Inc. is now a primary provider of processing services nationwide, and works with both Global Payments and First Data, who are among the largest processing organizations in the world.
Even though the company recently acquired a point-of-sale company formerly called Outsourced Solutions, and have many happy customers you can watch videos of, they believe it is not about selling software or hardware. It’s about partnering to figure out a plan for what the optimum payment processing system is for that business, and providing generous revenue sharing options to affiliates and referral partners.
